Why Law Enforcement I began working as a Mall Security Officer to help pay for college. It was there I first got the bug to go into law enforcement. After collage I landed my first job in public safety working as a police officer for the Chelsea Housing Authority in the City of Chelsea. There police work became my passion and still is even after 26 years.
First Arrest My first arrest was of two suspects who had assaulted another police officer with a brick. The suspects fled over a fence, through a marsh and across a major highway. The whole time I was chasing them I was thinking “What am I doing here, someone should call the cops”. Then I remembered I was “the cops” and this is what I would be doing for the rest of my career.
Best part of the job The best part of my job is the sense of accomplishment I get when I can positively affect the life of another person who needs help. Sometimes that is just being there to listen to them and most times I don’t even know the impact I made on them till one day I cross their path again and they say “Hey you’re the cop that helped me (Insert Story Here)”.
Hobbies Besides spending time with my children and family, I love to ride my Harley Davidson Motorcycle. When I am just banging around town on the bike or going on cross country treks with other friends who love to ride, I find it takes all the stresses of life and the job and puts them in to perspective.
Favorite Quote “We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time” the other is “Don’t take life to seriously, none of us will get out of it alive anyhow”
